Dates and Times
We enrol children between 2 1/2 to 4 years old. Our program follows an academic year running from September to June.
At this time we offer the following program choices:
- Half-day sessions from 9 AM to 12 Noon; 1 PM to 4 PM
- An extended day session: 9 AM to 2:45 PM
Before-care starts from 8:00 AM, and after-care ends at 5:30 PM.
Pedagogy
Individual Pace and Presentations
- We observe and support the individual child enabling him or her to develop at a pace that is suited for each child.
Multi Age Groups
- Our class sessions involve multi-age groups enhancing your child's learning experience.
Free Choice Within Limits
- We model respect for each person's uniqueness and diverse heritage. Our environment reflects the social dynamics for interactive, responsible, community and global life.
Practical life skills for care of one's self and the environment are developed and sensorial training for language (verbal, reading, writing), mathematics, geography, history, music and art.
JOL abides by the principles of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), an international organization entrusted with ensuring that the educational guidelines and standards of Dr. Maria Montessori are upheld. We are a member of CCMA (Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators). Our classroom environment is aesthetically beautiful, fully equipped with AMI approved equipment and prepared by highly experienced AMI trained staff.
